Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It’s been quite a year for all of us. As for me, I’ve shuffled from a few stores before landing on my feet in one of the best places I can be. That’s pretty satisfying to know I’ve a career which can support my family.

I took a family vacation to the Grand Canyon (my third time) and hiked to the bottom and back (my second time doing that!). My wife retired after forty-one years (a great achievement for anyone). And I’m nearing completion of my third book (to be published in late 2015 if all goes according to plan).

I certainly hope all of you are well this holiday season. Some good news to share is how independent bookstore sales have increased in 2014. To all of you who have supported these stores, you have our many thanks. Remember, reading takes you to places you dream of visiting, but have yet to do so.
